Stylish and Elegant but...

This product has two main flaws the chain and the manual it came with. it's riddled with typos and grammar errors with instructions that are hard to follow and need more explanation.



The second would be the chain it came with. The chain is approximately 10 1/2 inches which is only long enough to go from the front pants pocket to the first belt loop behind from the pocket. The length is sufficient enough to wear with a vest with little chain showing but the clasp is a Spring Ring Clasp which is far to small (approx 1cm) and can bend when leaning against a wall. The clasp is barely large enough to clip onto some belt loops and I was unable to clip it around the thread of my vest. Over all a disappointing chain.



The calendar function of the watch works fine as well as its easy to set. I dont know quite yet what happens on a month with only 30 days in it since I got the watch in december I won't know until the end of January if it goes to 31 or turns over.

It's okay

I wasn't expecting too much watch for this price but from the other reviews I thought I'd be getting at least a good deal. I was wrong.



When you pop out to set the time the minute hand flops around a teenie bit so when you set the time you have to be careful how you click the set knob back in or it can move the minute hand a little. Not very accurate and really annoying to me.



However yes it's fine for the price I guess but I'm now looking for another pocket watch. It's not worth it for me to send it back so I'm donating it to a thrift store and spending more money this time for something with a bit more quality.More detail ...

Great for Groomsmen Gifts - With a little prep

I bought 3 of these as groomsman gifts for my wedding a bit over a month ago. They all arrived in short order after ordering.



The watches each looked slick and all of the guys really seemed to like them. I can't really comment on their durability or how well they're performing in regards to time-keeping but I'll be sure to update this comment if I hear anything from the guys.



3 minor caveats however: 1) the 'stand' (that second section that flips out from the back-side of the watch) is connected by a simple hinge that barely supports the weight of the watch - so I don't think these would serve long-term as a desk clock (as I was thinking they might if called for). 2) The watches arrived in a box that seemed a bit big for them - with no plastic cradle to sit in (they were just freely moving around in the box) - so it took a little bit of prep-work on my end to make them them presentable as a gift. 3) One of the watches arrived with the chain disconnected from the actual watch... but after looking it over with a magnifying glass I was able to easily snap the connecting U-joint onto the watch... and it appeared to be as good as new.



Even considering those 3 minor drawbacks this is definitely a 4-star purchase as far as I'm concerned.

Smaller than expected but still a wonderful watch

When I first saw the watch I was surprised at the size. It is slightly but noticeably smaller than a standard pocket watch. However it feels quite solid and hefty has stood up well to daily use and the mechanical movement is mesmerizing.



The packaging is nothing special but I know the person I gave the watch to has thoroughly enjoyed showing it off. In the end even at retail the watch is a good deal for its solid level of quality.More detail ...

GREAT WATCH should be 5 STARS

Solid watch well made case is simple and yet very attractive. The small hands for date day of week and month are small. I find them hard to see. It would be much better if they were magnified. Keeps time well is slim and has been dropped 5 or 4 times yet shows no effects of my sometime rough handling. Good all around value. I washed watch in HEAVY DUTY CYCLE found it in bottom of washer pronounced it dead me out 50 bucks. Next day picked it up it was working total of three days later it was keeping perfect time to include sub dials. Not water resistant per company. I expected much better quality

I paid $80 for this and I have to say I'm really disappointed with the quality.

The main problem is the case. The cover hinge has a lot of play in it. When closed it shifts and clicks when you handle it. When open it flops around. It doesn't seem to be broken or tweaked in any way that's just the fit.

The crown adjustment seems unsure too. You need to play with it to get the stem in the right position to adjust the time and date- feels loose and notchy.

The chain and loop around the crown are very light and cheap feeling.More detail ...

we've started a new tradition

I bought this watch as a birthday present for my boyfriend knowing it was something he wanted more than needed. He absolutely loved it he wears it often and makes it a point to show it to our friends and family. He even decided that it would be the perfect start to a new collection. Awesome Watch!

I bought this for my husband for our 4th wedding anniversary. I did a lot of shopping around before I settled on this one. He really wanted a skeleton pocket watch and he wanted a lot of the watch's mechanisms exposed. This watch seemed to foot that bill without costing the over $500 the ones we were looking at cost. I have to say this watch is much nicer in person. My husband was so impressed and absolutely loves it! It is a very nice size everything is so pleasing to the eye and the construction looks very solid. Now we've only had this for a short time so I can't comment on its lasting quality but it does come with a limited lifetime warranty which is reassuring. A High Quality Pocket Watch

The Swiss Army pocket watch stands out from other modern offerings. It has a rugged stainless steel case a Swiss quartz movement a mineral glass crystal a heavy duty chain and water resistance to 100 meters. I have checked this pocket watch against the atomic clock in Boulder Colorado and it is accurate to within one second a day. I wanted to get a decent pocket watch and I passed over many of inferior quality before deciding on this Victorinox watch. Your average pocket watch these days comes with a plastic crystal which is easily scratched. The movements in most modern pocket watches are also highly suspect: mechanical movements may be made in Thailand and quartz movements are usually from Japan. Forget about water resistance in your average run-of-the-mill pocket watch. This watch has a stainless steel case that is built like a tank. If the case gets scratched you can polish out the scratches--same with the mineral glass crystal. I have mineral glass crystals on a number of wristwatches and I polish out the scratches with a fine abrasive called Flitz. The other thing I like about the Victorinox watch is the highly luminous hands and hour markers--they really stand out. The only improvements I'd recommend is a nicer roomier leather pouch that would attach to your belt--the supplied pouch is really too small. The date window at the six o'clock position could be a little larger. Overall however this is a pocket watch you can be proud to pull out of a vest pocket or belt pouch. I have already selected a small stainless steel finished Swiss Army knife by Victorinox as the perfect "watch fob." The watch is warranted by Victorinox for three years and that's the longest warranty you'll probably get on a pocket watch.
